About Tech Differently

I’m Jill Binder, and this is why Tech Differently exists.

It was a chaotic, loud room at a local conference. The CEO of a tech company rushed over and interrupted my conversation: “Do you know Kirsten? Can you help me find her? I NEED to talk to her.” He’d just watched her give her first tech talk. She’d taken my public speaking workshop, where people craft the talk only they can give. Her perspective hit him so strongly that he offered her a job on the spot. She became their first female developer, then their senior developer and team lead.

That was the moment I knew: this wasn’t just about public speaking. One talk from one person can change the trajectory of a career, shift a company, and inspire new approaches. It proved that thinking differently is an asset, not a liability.

In my 30 years in tech, I’ve seen too many world‑changing ideas disappear because the people behind them didn’t have the confidence or the words to share their ideas with others. Now more than ever, I want to amplify the good ideas and the good people.

The mission of Tech Differently is threefold: bring in the new ideas that make the world even 1% better, help people grow confidence and clarity, and inspire audiences to think and build differently.

If you join the Speaker Accelerator, you’ll move through impostor syndrome, find your voice, and craft the talk only you can give. You’ll deliver it to an audience excited to hear from people who think differently in tech. You’ll walk away with more confidence, a reusable talk you’ve already delivered, a recording to share, and a polished speaker kit for applying to more stages and podcasts.

If you attend the conference, expect thoughtful, original talks from people using tech to make the world a little better. Talks you’ve never heard before, from voices you actually want to hear from. You’ll leave energized, unstuck, and ready to ship something new.
